Mariapfarr is centrally located in an alpine basin within the Lungau Vacation Region and can be readily reached using a variety of transportation:

Coming by car:

From the north: Autobahn Munich – Salzburg, A 10 – Tauernautobahn to the St. Michael / Lungau exit, or on the B 99 via Radstadt – Obertauern.

From the east: Vienna – Semmering – Leoben – Unzmarkt – Murau – Ramingstein – Tamsweg – Mariapfarr, or Vienna  A 1 – Westautobahn to Salzburg than as above.

From the south: Udine – Autostrada – Tarvisio – Villach – Katschbergtunnel – St. Michael / Lungau exit.

Salzburg / main station, stations in Bischofshofen and Radstadt, or the station Unzmarkt (Styria), Tamsweg station (via Murau)
